Islamabad/Kuwait City, Aug. 28 -- Pakistan and Kuwait have signed a new defence cooperation agreement, marking a greater expansion of Islamabad's military footprint in the Gulf as the region continues to grapple with the fallout from the US-Iran war.
Pakistan and Kuwait signed the "Protocol Agreement-2026" in Islamabad on Thursday (August 27), with Kuwaiti Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif signing the agreement during the Kuwaiti minister's visit.
Kuwait's Defence Ministry called the agreement an "important milestone" in bilateral defence cooperation, saying it would advance the shared interests of both nations and contribute to regional security.
