Berlin, May 26 -- Paderborn secured promotion to the Bundesliga after six years away witha 2-1 extra-time win over Wolfsburg in the second leg of the relegation play-off, condemning the visitors to the second division for the first time.
Wolfsburg struck early, with Dzenan Pejcinovic putting the Bundesliga side ahead in the third minute to strengthen its hopes of staying up on Monday.
The match turned, however, in the 14th minute when Joakim Maehle received two yellow cardsin quick succession, leaving Wolfsburg with 10 men and Paderborn in control.
