New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- A 35-year-old worker was killed, and four others were injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded during unloading at a godown in Delhi's Okhla Phase-I on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased, Mohit Singh, a resident of Jaipur, worked with the firm, SM Traders, as a helper for the last three years, and died on the spot. The four other workers, identified as Umesh, Arvind, Manoj and Pankaj, were injured and rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
At around 10:43 am, a PCR call regarding the incident was received at Okhla Industrial Area police station.
Over an hour later, at 11:55 am, Delhi Fire Services received a message about the blast and rushed to the spot. Police and forensic teams, joined the fire officials.
