Panchkula, Sept. 17 -- More than four lakh earthen lamps were lit at around 275 locations across Panchkula district on Thursday as the administration launched the month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', aimed at expanding awareness and access to government welfare schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma joined the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' programme at the Parade Ground in Sector 5, where he also distributed Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana (HAPPY) cards to 100 eligible beneficiaries.
The cards entitle beneficiaries to free travel of up to 1,000 kilometres annually on Haryana Roadways buses.
