Dehradun, March 12 -- More than 500 sesors of Earthquake Early Warning Systems (EEWS) will be set up under National Earthquake Risk Mitigation Programme (NERMP) in different parts of Uttarakhand in the coming days, in view of Himalayan state's seismic succeptibility.

The information was shared by the Pushkar Singh Dhami government in the ongoing budget session of the state assembly at Bhararisain today.

In his reply to a question asked by the Congress MLA Qazi Nizamuddin, state Parliamentary Affairs minister Subodh Uniyal said that 500 sensors of EEWS will be set up across the state at selected locations. Of these 169 have already been set up. Remaining sensors will be set up in coming months.
