Ranchi, July 31 -- More than 43.68 lakh voters in Jharkhand have not submitted their enumeration forms during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, with the Election Commission attributing the lower response largely to urban areas.
Chief Electoral Officer Ravi Kumar said rural voters had shown greater participation in the enumeration exercise than their urban counterparts.
He said the draft electoral roll would be published on August 5, after which claims and objections would be invited.
