Manila, July 10 -- At least 15 people have been killed in landslides in the Philippines, which were triggered by the deadly Typhoon Bavi which is heading towards Taiwan and eastern China, triggering widespread evacuations, flight cancellations and emergency preparations by authorities across East Asia.

The massive storm, stretching around 1,000km at its widest point, is moving across the Pacific and is expected to bring with it torrential rainfall and destructive winds to Taiwan, Japan's southern islands and China's south-eastern coast in the coming days.
