Chhapra, June 5 -- More than 12 people fell sick after an ammonia gas leak from a cold storage in Saran district of Bihar, triggering panic among residents in nearby localities.
Official sources said here on Friday that the gas leak began past midnight from a cold storage unit located under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station. Soon after the leak, residents living in surrounding areas complained of eye irritation, vomiting, restlessness, and breathing discomfort.
Local residents alerted the police as the situation worsened. Police personnel and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and launched emergency measures to contain the leak. Firefighters sprayed water and chemical mixtures in an effort to reduce the impact of the ammo...
