Lucknow, Sept. 15 -- More than one lakh new firms from Uttar Pradesh registered on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) during 2025-26, taking the total number of registered firms in the state to 7,86,687, officials said on Tuesday.
The number increased by 1,01,199 from 6,85,488 firms registered as of March 31, 2025, marking a growth of about 15 per cent, according to the data.
Officials attributed the rise to state government measures aimed at promoting MSMEs, improving ease of doing business and expanding the participation of local entrepreneurs in government procurement.
The data also showed increased participation by micro and small enterprises (MSEs), women-owned firms, SC/ST enterprises and startups.
