Bhubaneswar, July 21 -- The Orissa High Court has summoned three senior police officers for failing to comply with its order directing the reinstatement of a police constable acquitted in an NDPS case, warning that contempt proceedings would be initiated unless the directions are implemented before the next hearing.

In an order pronounced on Monday, Justice M.S. Raman directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Personnel), Odisha, Cuttack; the Inspector General of Police (Southern Range), Berhampur; and the Superintendent of Police, Kandhamal, to appear before the court virtually on July 31.
