Bhubaneswar, July 16 -- The Orissa High Court has restrained Ele Animations Pvt. Ltd. from releasing its animated film Mahaprabhu Jagannath, ruling that its release during the ongoing Rath Yatra festivities could disturb public order and hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Harish Tandon and Justice M.S. Raman, in an order pronounced on Wednesday, directed that the film shall not be released on July 17 or thereafter without the court's permission or until the next date of hearing, whichever is earlier. The matter has been posted for hearing on August 5.
