Thiruvananthapuram, July 31 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for 11 districts in Kerala on Friday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The districts under the Orange Alert are Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.

Meanwhile, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services has issued a high wave and coastal inundation warning for parts of the northern Kerala coast.

According to INCOIS, coastal stretches from Chombala Fishing Harbour to Ramanattukara in Kozhikode district, and from Valapattanam to New Mahe and Kunjathur to Kottakunnu in Kannur and Kasaragod districts, are likely to experience high wa...
