Bhubaneswar, March 12 -- The Odisha Legislative Assembly witnessed major disruptions on Thursday as opposition members protested against the shortage of LPG cooking gas and the rise in LPG cylinder prices.

The chaos forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House three times before finally suspending proceedings until 4 PM.

As soon as the House convened for the Question Hour, members of the Congress entered the well of the House holding placards and shouting slogans against the government.

They accused the administration of failing to address the increasing price of LPG cylinders and the shortage of cooking gas across the state.
