Guwahati, March 11 -- In what might affect the Opposition Unity in Assam, the talks over a probable alliance between the Congress and the regional party Raijor Dal led by Akhil Gogoi has failed.
This became clear today after Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Chief Gaurav Gogoi made this public on his social media handles. "We wanted to have an alliance with Raijor Dal as desired by the people of Assam. Along with Raijor Dal, we wanted to put up a brave fight as an united opposition. However, despite several rounds of talks, we failed to arrive at a consensus with the Raijor Dal," said Gogoi.
