Kolkata, June 22 -- : The state budget has come under sharp criticism from opposition parties, with leaders questioning the government's development narrative, industrial policy and employment promises.

A major flashpoint has emerged over the reduction in allocations for the Minority Affairs Department, with opposition leaders alleging that the move contradicts the government's commitment to inclusive development.

Leading the criticism in the Assembly, Trinamool Congress chief whip Akhruzzaman attacked the ruling party's slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", alleging discrimination against minorities.
