Bhubaneswar, July 30 -- The Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday criticised Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's visit to New Delhi, questioning his absence from the state at a time when Odisha is battling a worsening flood situation triggered by incessant rainfall.
Both opposition parties alleged that the state government had failed to prepare adequately for the floods and had responded poorly to the crisis. They claimed that large parts of the state remain inundated, while thousands of flood-affected people continue to suffer due to delays in relief and rehabilitation.
