Vijayawada, Sept. 15 -- Opposition parties, including the YSRCP, Congress, CPI, and CPI (M) on Tuesday expressed grave concern over the alleged removal of 44 lakh names from the electoral rolls and issuance of notices to 42 lakh people under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The parties voiced their apprehension at a round-table organised by the CPI here on the issue.
Speaking on the occasion, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji alleged that the massive deletions were carried out on flimsy grounds. He also charged the Election officials with denying political parties the required information on the rejections and removals of names.
