Chandigarh, July 7 -- Punjab Police has launched a major crackdown against organised crime and drug networks in the state's border districts, leading to the arrest of 56 alleged associates of gangsters and the recovery of illegal arms, narcotics and illicit liquor, officials said.
The action was carried out under Operation Prahar 3.0, a coordinated drive conducted across Pathankot, Amritsar, Batala, Gurdaspur, Ajnala, Beas and other sensitive areas falling under the Border Range. The operation was conducted under the supervision of DIG Border Range Harmanbir Singh Gill, with participation from more than 1,800 police personnel.
