Nashik/ Mumbai, May 22 -- Onion and grain auctions at the Lasalgaon Agricultural Produce Market Committee will remain suspended indefinitely from Monday after the Traders' Association informed the market committee that its members would not participate in the auction process.
The sudden decision has pushed onion growers into a triple crisis, deepening concerns among farmers across the region.
According to the letter submitted by the association, a severe diesel shortage in Nashik district and other parts of the state has disrupted transportation services, making trucks unavailable for carrying agricultural produce. Traders stated that the suspension of auctions was a forced and unfortunate decision arising from the ongoing fuel crisis.
