Chennai, July 14 -- A migrant worker from Bihar was killed and seven others sustained severe burns after a boiler exploded due to excessive heat at a steel smelting factory at Gummudipoondi SIPCOT Industrial estate in neighbouring Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ravi Ranjan who died on the spot, police said.
The impact of the explosion was such that molten metal got splashed on to the workers, injuring seven.
