Imphal, Aug. 14 -- One Naga civilian was killed and three others injured after armed assailants suspected to be Kuki militants opened fire on farmers working in a paddy field near Langka Naga village, along the Imphal-Tamei Road, on Friday, according to police.

The attack reportedly took place when villagers had gone to their agricultural fields. Three persons sustained bullet wounds and were in a critical condition.

According to the farmers, the attackers were heavily armed and numbered more than 40.
