Shimla, June 22 -- One person was killed and 23 others injured after a truck carrying members of a wedding band troupe skidded off the road and rolled down a hillside, near Jais in Theog subdivision of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh on Monday.
According to initial reports, the truck, bearing registration number CH-01-TB-4485, was travelling from Chandigarh to Jais when the accident occurred, said the police. A total of 24 people were on board the vehicle at the time of the mishap.
Police further said 23 occupants sustained injuries, while one person succumbed to injuries.
The deceased was identified as Neetu, a resident of Salanpur village, Dadhedu post office, Jayawan tehsil in Muzaffarpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
