Chennai, April 8 -- In a major setback for the fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of film star-turned politician Vijay, making its electoral debut in this high-octane April 23 Tamil Nadu assembly polls, the nomination papers of the party's candidate against AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) in his home turf of Edappadi constituency in Salem disrict, was not found in order and rejected during scrutiny.
Hundreds of TVK supporters who had gathered at the Taluk office at Edappadi town for scrutiny on Tuesday were dejected at the papers of the party candidate, M Arun Kumar, as well as his substitute (called as dummy candidate in poll parlance), were rejected.
