Bhubaneswar, May 5 -- Odisha Vigilance has apprehended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Prasanta Pradhan of Rajkanika Police Station while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a complainant in exchange for submitting a favourable report in a land dispute case.
According to Vigilance sources, the complainant was involved in a joint land ownership dispute where the opposing party had allegedly begun construction on the shared property without consent. Seeking legal intervention, the complainant had approached the competent court to halt the construction work.
