Bhubaneswar, Aug. 4 -- The Odisha Government has decided to constitute a separate battalion for the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) as part of its plan to upgrade the force into the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and revamp it into a fully dedicated disaster response agency with enhanced infrastructure, manpower, and operational capabilities.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced the proposed revamp on Tuesday while chairing a high-level review meeting on the state's disaster management system and infrastructure.
