Bhubaneswar, July 8 -- Odisha is set to get its first-ever skywalk, a major urban infrastructure project aimed at improving pedestrian safety and easing congestion on one of the busiest stretches of National Highway in the capital city.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct the state's first skywalk between Palasuni and Rasulgarh in Bhubaneswar, providing a long-term solution to pedestrian congestion and the high incidence of road accidents in the area.
The project has materialised following sustained efforts by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, who pursued the proposal with union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and senior officials of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
