Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- More than 1.61 crore children aged 1-19 years across Odisha will be administered Albendazole on August 10 under the National Deworming Day (NDD) programme to tackle intestinal worm infections, anaemia, and associated nutritional problems.
The State Health and Family Welfare Department, in collaboration with UNICEF, will conduct the campaign across all 30 districts. A mop-up round will be held on August 17 for children and other eligible beneficiaries who miss the dose on the scheduled day.
The campaign will cover 32,94,630 children aged 1-5 years and 1,28,89,071 children in the 6-19 age group. In addition, more than 19 lakh women in the 20-24 age group will be covered under the deworming programme.
