Bhubaneswar, March 10 -- The Odisha government has set a target to provide safe drinking water to every household in the state by March 2027, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Nayak told the state assembly on Tuesday.

Replying to a question raised by MLA Manoranjan Dhyan Samantray (BJP) during the Question Hour, the minister said the government is currently implementing 207 mega drinking water projects across the state.

Of these, 26 projects have already been completed, while another 28 are expected to be finished by the end of March.

According to the minister, drinking water has already been supplied to 68,47,752 families, covering about 77 percent of households in the state as of March 5. Out of the total 44,531 villages in Odisha, drinking...
