Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- The Odisha government has stepped up efforts to protect and restore the properties of Lord Jagannath, with 31,906.52 acres of land across 17 districts already recorded in the name of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath.

The issue came up for detailed discussion at a high-level meeting chaired by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

Khordha accounts for the largest share, with 20,507.36 acres of land recorded in the name of Lord Jagannath. The government has decided to accord priority to protecting these properties and recovering land under illegal occupation.
