Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- The Odisha government has earmarked Rs 46.66 crore over the next four years to create 1,100 Atmanirbhar Mahila Subahaks across the state under an ambitious scheme aiming to financially empower women, officials said on Tuesday.
The Odisha government's flagship 'Ama Subahak' scheme is designed to promote women's economic empowerment, and prioritises women drivers associated with Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and beneficiaries of the 'Subhadra' scheme.
