Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- Odisha Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Tuesday directed officials to expedite construction of the Kalamandal project, envisioned as the state's largest auditorium and open-air theatre, near Sainik School in Bhubaneswar.

During a visit to the project site, the Minister instructed Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) officials to accelerate the pace of work and ensure its early completion.

Being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 173 crore, the ambitious cultural complex will include a 2,000-seat state-of-the-art auditorium and a 500-seat open-air theatre, both currently under construction.
