Bhubaneswar, Sept. 19 -- Odisha Police will launch a statewide special drive, 'Daman', from September 21 to September 30 to keep a close watch on criminals and anti-social elements and prevent unlawful activities during the upcoming festive season.
The special campaign is aimed at maintaining peace and public order during the festivals and taking stringent legal action against criminals and anti-social elements, police said.
During the 10-day campaign, close surveillance will be maintained on the activities and movements of criminals and anti-socials. Execution of non-bailable warrants and preventive legal action will be given priority, while raids and arrests against those involved in illegal activities will also be intensified.
