Bhubaneswar, July 3 -- Police in Odisha's Puri district have removed 97 objectionable social media posts and accounts over the past three days for allegedly circulating morphed and inappropriate content related to Lord Jagannath.

The drastic action was taken in a special online monitoring drive after police noticed edited photos, videos and posts on various social media platforms that could hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.

A dedicated team has been continuously monitoring social media to identify and report objectionable content. Police said the identified posts and accounts were successfully taken down as part of the drive, said Puri SP Prateek Singh.
