Bhubaneswar, July 10 -- Odisha Police has achieved a major milestone under its 'Drug-Free Odisha Campaign' by destroying a record 108.90 metric tonnes of seized ganja, valued at Rs.544.52 crore, during the National Pre-Trial Drug Disposal Special Drive.
The special drive was conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) of the CID-Crime Branch under the direct supervision of Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania from June 2 to July 10.
Police sources said that at the launch of the campaign, police districts and specialised units had identified 78,600.383 kg of seized ganja for destruction by July 10.
