Bhubaneswar, June 29 -- Odisha Police achieved a major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on interstate ganja trafficking after seizing 100 kg of cannabis and arresting four persons involved in the smuggling operation.

Acting on intelligence inputs, personnel of Badagada Police Station under Ganjam district intercepted a Ford Endeavour vehicle and conducted a search, during which police recovered the contraband concealed inside a specially designed hidden compartment of the vehicle.

Police also seized two Apache motorcycles allegedly used in facilitating the operation.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the ganja had been sourced from Nakatiri village in Ganjam district and was being transported to Gujarat through Berhampur when ...
