Bhubaneswar, July 4 -- The Odisha government has placed its administrative machinery on high alert as a well-marked low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts continues to trigger widespread rainfall across the State.
The government has directed district administrations to remain fully prepared to tackle any eventuality, with instructions to take preventive measures against flooding, waterlogging, damage to vulnerable structures and standing crops, and inundation of low-lying areas and urban underpasses. People have been advised to remain indoors during thunderstorms and follow official weather advisories.
