Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2 -- Odisha Government has tightened enforcement against vehicles plying without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC), with repeat offenders now facing fines of up to Rs 6,000.
The Commerce and Transport Department has notified a graded penalty structure based on the type of vehicle.
The Department has informed a graded compounding fee for driving or allowing a vehicle to be driven in a public place after expiry of its PUCC. The provision applies specifically to offences arising from the absence of a valid PUCC.
Owners of motorcycles and three-wheelers will have to pay Rs 1,000 for the first offence and Rs 2,000 for subsequent offences. For motor cabs, cars, jeeps, tractors and trailers, the fine has been...
