Bhubaneswar, July 29 -- The Odisha government has launched large-scale relief, rescue and restoration operations on a war footing in flood-affected areas to ensure the safety and well-being of affected people, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said on Wednesday.
Chairing a high-level review meeting on the flood situation, Pujari said the worst-hit districts are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Kendujhar, which have been severely affected by incessant rainfall and flooding.
According to the latest assessment, floods have affected 44 blocks, 243 gram panchayats and 748 villages. Heavy rainfall has also impacted parts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati and Malkan...
