Bhubaneswar, July 15 -- In a major push to strengthen tourist safety and position Odisha as a secure and responsible travel destination, the state government on Wednesday launched the 'Safe Tourist Campaign' in Puri.
The initiative, rolled out in collaboration with Odisha Fire and Emergency Services and the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), aims to build a robust safety and emergency response network across beaches, tourist destinations and water bodies in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida formally presented government licences to professionally trained lifeguards who have completed intensive lifesaving training in accordance with international standards.
