Bhubaneswar, March 30 -- The tragic fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack that killed 13 patients continued to disrupt proceedings in the Odisha Assembly on Monday, marking the 10th consecutive working day of adjournments with no resolution in sight.

Opposition members from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress stalled the functioning of the House, demanding the resignation of Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling over the incident.

Despite several all-party meetings convened by Speaker Surama Padhy to resolve the impasse, the deadlock persists, with the Opposition firm on holding the Minister morally accountable for the March 16 tragedy in the Trauma Care ICU.
