Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to reduce petrol and diesel consumption, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday issued an eight-point directive aimed at cutting fuel usage across government departments.

The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to take immediate steps to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel in government operations and ensure strict implementation of the new guidelines at all administrative levels.

According to the directives, government meetings, review sessions, training programmes and workshops will henceforth be conducted virtually unless physical presence is absolutely necessary.
