Bhubaneswar, Aug. 30 -- The Government employees in Odisha who default on paying court-ordered maintenance or alimony to their wives or children will now have the amount deducted directly from their salaries, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issuing a directive in this regard.
The decision follows repeated complaints received during the Chief Minister's grievance hearings from women and children who have been denied maintenance despite court orders. On average, two to three such cases are reportedly brought to the grievance cell during each hearing.
