Bhubaneswar, April 14 -- In a major relief for domestic households across Odisha, the state government has directed power distribution companies not to disconnect electricity supply due to unpaid bills during the intense summer months.

Deputy Chief Minister K. V. Singh Deo, who also holds the Energy portfolio, announced that no domestic consumer will face power disconnection for non-payment of electricity bills during the summer of 2026, up until the arrival of the monsoon.
