Bhubaneswar, April 6 -- In an attempt to ensure the safety and comfort of commuters, the Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) has clamped a ban on the plying of more than ten-year-old commercial vehicles, registered in other States, on Odisha roads.
Contract carriages registered in other States which are more ten years old from the month and year of manufacture shall not be granted any permit in the State.
All the regional transport officers are instructed not to make any change of address, transfer of ownership and accept taxes, the STA said in a notification.
