Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18 -- Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Tuesday flagged off a relief consignment of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch (IRCS-OSB), from Lok Bhavan for flood-affected people in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jajpur districts.

The relief consignment comprises tarpaulins and nutritious dry food packets aimed at providing immediate assistance to families affected by the recent floods.

Appreciating the humanitarian initiatives of the Red Cross, the Governor called for greater participation of Youth Red Cross members and young volunteers in community service and disaster-response activities.
