Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26 -- The overall flood and heavy rainfall situation in Odisha remains under control, although several districts continue to be closely monitored following incessant rain and rising river water levels, official sources said on Wednesday.
According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), around 13.50 lakh people in 10 districts, 91 blocks and 604 Gram Panchayats have been affected by floods and heavy rainfall between August 13 and August 26.
The state government said the situation arising from rising river water levels, waterlogging, breaches and disruption of communication in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada districts has been closely monitored and effectively managed.
