Bhubaneswar, July 15 -- The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Kendrapara, has directed a private dentist to pay Rs 1 lakh in compensation to a woman after holding him guilty of medical negligence and deficiency in service in connection with a dental treatment that allegedly left her with prolonged health complications.
In its order pronounced under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Commission held that the complainant, Nalini Mohanty, had successfully established that the treatment provided by dentist Dr. Milan Kumar fell below the expected standard of care and caused her considerable physical, mental and financial hardship.
