Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Prof. (Dr.) Susant Mohanty of SOA Deemed to be University has been elected president of the Indian Society of Pediatrics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD), with integrated maternal and child oral healthcare emerging as a key priority under his tenure.
Mohanty, Head of Pediatrics and Preventive Dentistry at the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), SOA's faculty of dental sciences, was elected at the society's 47th National Conference in New Delhi. He succeeds Prof. Sudhindra Baliga.
In his presidential address, Mohanty called for closer coordination between dentists, obstetricians, paediatricians and maternal and community health workers to strengthen oral healthcare for mothers and children.
