Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- In a major breakthrough, the Cyber Crime Police Station of the Odisha Crime Branch has arrested a suspect from West Bengal in connection with a massive Rs 12.33 crore online investment fraud involving a fake trading platform.
According to Crime Branch sources, the case began when a complainant was contacted on July 31, 2025, via WhatsApp by unidentified cyber fraudsters.
The scammers lured him into joining a group that posed as stock market consultants. To gain his trust, they shared fabricated investment tips and fake testimonials, creating the illusion of a legitimate and profitable venture.
