Bhubaneswar, May 20 -- A court in Sambalpur on Wednesday sentenced two notorious interstate habitual property offenders belonging to the infamous "Motu Patlu Gang" to six years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with burglary and theft cases reported from Odisha and other states.

Police sources said the convicted persons were identified as Mohammad Akhlaq (50) of Chand Bagh under Dayalpur police station in North East Delhi, and Shobi alias Waseem alias Zuber (36) of Golden Idgah Colony, Samar Garden under Lisadi Gate police station in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

The duo was involved in several burglary and theft cases across Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Rourkela and other parts of the country.
